House Information
Emerson Park School House System
The school is divided into four houses. The houses compete with each other to be the best in attendance, behaviour, uniform, house points, sporting events, quizzes etc. Results of competitions are displayed on the house notice boards and on the interactive screen in the Foyer. Each house has its own Council and Sports Council, plus its own representatives on the School Council. If you have any ideas or suggestions of what you would like your house to be doing please see your Head of House.
Redgrave

House Colour - Red
Sir Steve Redgrave is the most successful British Olympian in history. Drawing inspiration from his remarkable qualities and achievements and adopting as our own the Olympic motto, Citius, Altius, Fortius (Swifter, Higher, Stronger), we strive in Redgrave House to be the best that we can as individuals. We believe in ourselves as a team and attempt to live up to the title of our theme tune, “We are the Champions” by Queen.
Miss K. Potts − Head of Redgrave
Brunel

House Colour – Green
Brunel house takes its name from Isambard Kingdom Brunel, one of the greatest engineers in history. As a house we look to adopt the ambitious and visionary qualities of our namesake. We encourage each other to achieve our best and strive to improve ourselves. The lyrics from our house song, “Proud” by Heather Small summarises the attitude we aim to share. “What have you done today to make you feel proud, - it’s never too late to try”.
Mrs L.. Goodyear − Head of Brunel
Hepworth

House Colour – Yellow
Dame Barbara Hepworth (1903-75) one of Britain’s most famous female artists is best known for her massive abstract sculptures in stone or wood. Hepworth house members strive to perform their best − “Creativity is a necessary tool for the knowledge of our ambitions, goals and possibilities”.
Ms J. Egleton − Head of Hepworth
Cavell

House Colour – Blue
Edith Cavell, a nurse in World War I, was executed for her “choice” to rescue soldiers. As a Cavellian it is important that you not only make the right choices in life but also take responsibility for your own actions. This determines the Cavell House motto: “Choice not chance determines destiny”. A Cavellian is hard working, confident, compassionate, determined, and supportive and at all times strives to do their best not only for themselves but also for Cavell House! Our song “We are family” emphasises the “family” feel to this house and the need for unity, support and teamwork.
Ms J. Marsh − Head of Cavell
